Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism will showcase Leonardo Da Vinci’s portrait of Christ, “Salvator Mundi,” sold earlier this month for 450.3 million Dollars.
Media reports that the painting was bought in the Christie’s auction house by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, something that was denied his officials.
The artwork was purchased by an unidentified buyer who bought it after the auction started with 20 minutes.
The art piece, is the most expensive paint ever sold. It’sgping to be showcased at Abu Dhabi’s Louvre.
“Christie’s can confirm that the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi is acquiring ‘Salvator Mundi’ by Leonardo da Vinci,” the auction house said in a statement.
“We are delighted to see that this remarkable painting will be available for public view at the Louvre Abu Dhabi.”
